Server Setup & Migration of Datasets

Today we setup our temporary single node setup. It is a custom build with a AMD-6300 6-core processor and 8GB of RAM running Ubuntu 14.04.

Today we installed the following software:

- Apache Hadoop 2.7.1

- Apache Pig 0.15.0

- Apache Hive 1.2.1

We are in the midst of uploading our datasets and will begin running queries and applying statistical models to the data within the next two weeks.

Our next post will include website changes, new features added to the up and coming Hadoop cluster, and some insights we have gained from the datasets we've uncovered.
